    Pure Premium Quartz (PPQ) synthesis for SAW resonators beyond the state of the art

    Background, Motivation and Objective 

    Quartz crystal is a key material for the development of the first generations of cellular phones with frequency filters operating in the 70-350 MHz frequency range with a quality factor times frequency (Q×f) products reaching values around 9×1012. Recent developments aim at developing low phase noise oscillator, taking advantage of the compactness, temperature stability and resonance quality of resonators built on the so-called AT-cut family defined using the IEEE Std-176 standard notation as (YXl)/θ with θ ranging from 28 to 40°.

  • CSR: Cristal innov is committed to a proactive policy.

    Innovation driven by the challenges of climate change:
    • Recycling non-compliant parts, either by reintegrating them as raw materials into the process, or by diversifying their use, with the example of CRYSTALITE.
    • Diverting technologies for innovations in favor of the environment: the Synterre project aims to use hydrothermal synthesis technology (used for the synthesis of quartz) in order to purify rare earths in an eco-friendly process, compared to current technologies.
    • Search for new crystal compositions synthesized at lower temperatures for equivalent properties to the crystals currently used (ab initio approach, modeling, AI, etc.).
    • Footprinting carbon of new projects.

  • Management of non-compliance action plan

    During its ISO-9001 certification renewal audit, 2 strong points were highlighted in CRISTAL INNOV QMS :
    - The efficiency of its ERP, both for the repeatability of production ranges, the traceability of products and the management of non-compliance action plan (yes, it may rarely happen...) - Its pro-active CSR policy (Corporate social responsibility) on its two aspects (societal and environmental). It can generate innovation too (e.g., more environmentally positive material, recycling, etc.)
    As our QMS is a sign of confidence, CRISTAL INNOV team is proud of its continuous improvements for ever greater customer satisfaction.

Its team promotes and disseminates scientific knowledge and gets involved in NGO at the local level.
